The senior USA basketball team improved to 3-0 in pre- olympic exhibition with a 120-84, dismantling of Lithuania on Friday morning.  So far in three games the americans have averaged a 41 point margin of victory.  Now before we place this team on the same pedestal as the original “Dream Team” lets realize that the teams the americans have played so far, (Canada, Turkey, and Lithuania) are not the caliber of teams they will face in the coming weeks in the Olympics.  These three teams thus far have been relatively young teams building for the future, with a sprinkling of nba talent amongst all three teams.  It is safe to say that the USA is hands down the most athletic team in the upcoming Olympics, however it is somewhat fools gold to just assume the americans will run over all opponents in search of the Gold medal.  In the coming days, I will dissect the US team from a fans perspective and shed some light on the strengths and gasp! (weaknesses) that could be exploited in the upcoming Olympic games.  The Americans have two games remaining on their exhibition slate prior to the Olympics, they will face off against Russia and Australia, neither team appears to pose a serious threat to the US team ending exhibition play undefeated!  Tell next time sports fans, enjoy and just remember, everything’s gonna be alright!
